What Exactly are Lemon Laws and how do I know it it applies to my situation?
My Gateway Laptop (btw, DONT ever buy one) is less tha 2 years old and has already broken twice for the same problem. It has trouble charging itself, the first time it simply wouldnt charge and the second time, it actually caught on fire and fried my mother board. I have had it back for a month now and it is starting to act up again. In addition, the “mouse” button is breaking. Will sending it in a third time result in anything positive for me, such as getting a new computer that isnt a pile of junk? I have asked Best Buy and they have been a little shady about the whole thing.
I have no longer have a warranty through Gateway, therefore they have no interest in talking to me and I have an extended warranty contract through Best Buy until 2008. I was told by 3 seperate Best Buy employees that it was 3 times, 4 times, and 5 times that something has to not work before it is replaced completely.
